Almond Chocolates

I came up with this idea for Mother's day. Not only that, guys, stop buying chocolates, instead make them for your girlfriends! it'll mean much more more than the chocolates you buy, Trust me !! And For those who love chocolates will definitely find this steps of love easy as 1 2 3 !

You'll be needing

1 bar of bittersweet chocolate

3 Tablespoon cocoa butter

( cocoa butter is to make the chocolate light and shiny , it doesn't effect the taste of the chocolate so you can add as how much you want )

Almonds

Suitable chocolate mould

( you can get it any baking store or any groceries store )

( making this can be very messy for a first timer but you'll get a hang of it )

STEPS

1. Cut the chocolates into pieces

2. Put the chocolates in a double boiler

3. Once the chocolate has melted, add in the cocoa butter and stir until even

4. Turn off fire and place it in the chocolate mould

5. Put only half first and refrigerate the chocolates 5-10m minutes to harden
(be very careful when carrying the mould to the fridge)

6. Once harden, put the almonds in and pour the rest of the chocolate in the mould and refrigerate it for 1-2 hours

7. Take out and ready to eat, or you could place them in boxes if your giving s gift for someone:)

Cut them into pieces :)

Put them in a smaller pot :)

Double boil the chocolates :)

Add the cocoa butter :)

 Add in the almonds

Pour the rest of the chocolates and refrigerate those babies :)

You could place them in boxes as a gift  ! :)

Fairy Cupcakes

Fairy cupcakes are cupcakes which consists of mostly milk, making it soft and and spongy . It's extremely easy to make and can even be done by anyone. Topping the cupcakes off with cinnamon sprinkles makes them sweet and savory.

The ultimate sweetness depends on the love you put into the cupcake :)

INGREDIENTS:   ( makes 12 ) 1 cup of self raising flour

1/2 stick of butter

1 cup icing sugar

3 eggs ( separate the yolk and keep the white )

1 teaspoon of vanilla essence

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 can of evaporated milk

2 teaspoon baking powder

Cinammon powder

STEPS:
~ in the steps, I'll be using only a whisk, if you have your own whisking machine, you can use it .

1. Whisk butter and icing sugar until smooth texture is achieved

2. Add in the egg yolks one at a time and continue whisking until even

3. Add vanilla essence and salt and continue whisking

4. Next, add in the self raising flour and mix well.

5. Add milk and continue whisking for at least 5 - 10 minutes

6. Set batter aside

7. Take egg white and whisk in a separate bowl until fluffy (cotton-like). This should take around 10 - 15 minutes

8. Once done, mix the egg whites with the batter and continue whisking for 5 minutes

9. Pour the batter into cupcake mould or paper cupcake cups

10. Sprinkle cinnamon powder on top of the batter

11. Preheat the oven to 120C and bake the cupcakes for atleast 15 - 20 minutes .

12. Poke the tip of the cupcake with a toothpick. If it comes out smoothly without any batter sticking to the toothpick, then cupcakes are done. If not bake for an additional 5 minutes.

13. Leave the cupcakes to cool and serve.

The cupcake may turn out grainy but that's fine. The texture will come out soft and spongy after baking.

Once it's done, it'll turn out like this. The cinnamon will seep into the cupcake and make them sweet and savory. You can also decorate the cupcake with sprinkles or butter icing :)

In the coming weeks I will be posting all my culinary exploits; from my own recipes and experiences in the kitchen, to my adventures discovering new gastronomical delights all over Malaysia (where eating is practically our national pastime).

So stay tuned dear readers for a gastronomical love affair!
